Oh my goodness, I just needed to use my old school computer for teaching online due to the corona virus. (This is another story) Anyway my blog popped up! I haven't seen my blog since my last computer up and died. I was never able to remember how to get into it on my new computer so I thought it was lost and gone forever, but alas here it is and I feel the urge to update you on so many things.
First of all, we are all locked down in our whole country due to a nasty virus called Corona. It's hard to tell what is true and untrue and exactly how bad this will be. I, predict it has nothing to do with an actual virus but that is a crazy theory so I am not really owning it quite yet.
John is working from home in a makeshift office down the basement, I am expected to teach online so I am trying to learn how to do that and life is all mixed up.
Pastor Warnecke died of cancer after a courageous six month battle. Only his family were able to attend the funeral because of the virus restrictions. It was all very sad and hard. He was truly a man of God and served till just days before he died. He touched so many lives.
We just returned from a trip to the Grand Canyon. We left just before everything started shutting down. We flew out to Las Vegas from Madison but had to rent a car to drive home because the flights were all cancelled. It was an unexpected adventure, but we enjoyed it very much. There were no restaurants open due to the virus so we ate a lot from gas stations.
We started in Las vegas just one day before it completely closed down. we stayed at the Luxor Hotel, very cool and were able to walk up and down the strip before heading to Flagstaff. We loved seeing Las vegas.
Rented an air bnb in Flagstaff. Enjoyed one meal out before they shut everything down. Loved our air bnb as usual. Headed to the Grand Canyon on a beautiful sunny cool day. It was more awesome than I ever expected. we were not disappointed. Lots of photos on Facebook.
Ate pizza from a little carry out place in Flagstaff. headed to Sedona on the next day. Took a trolley ride in the rain but at least got to see some of Sedona. We weren't really that impressed with the city. it snowed alot forcing us to head to Las Vegas early only to find out our flight had been cancelled. that is when we decided to drive home through some of the most beautiful scenery ever! The mountains of Colorado were a bit intimidating due to the snow, but we made it.
Highlights of the trip included a lost, then found key to our air bnb.
A horrible drive to Las vegas because of the snow and a reroute by Judy.
Flash flood warnings on that drive in the middle of nowhere in black of night.
An arrogant little police boy in Prescott
There was probably more, but I can;t think of any right now. We did have a great time even with all the craziness of the virus.
My mom continues to live with us. her short term is gone and that makes for a nutty life around here.
We have the sweetest little black kitty named Lacey, but mom calls her Kitsy.
The girls are growing and thriving back in Oshkosh. They are outgrowing their need for us in their lives. so that is a hard pill to swallow for me.
Alissa and Nathan just returned from Jamaica and had to self quarantine for two weeks which has since extended to indefinitely with the shelter in, lock down!
Life will go on, but not sure it will ever get back to normal.
I hope it does.
That is all for now.
