So far behind, time for catch up

Well, a lot has happened during the past two weeks.
School ended for me for another year.
We had a wonderful end of the year spring sing again,.  My kids were sunflowers.
The weekend before (May 17), we took our annual Memorial Day bike ride at Two Rivers.  Yes, we  were a week early, but Tom and Patti were coming to visit over Memorial Day so instead of missing it , we just did it a week early.
The day was cool but no rain so we bundled up.
We had a great ride, about 12 miles and rewarded ourselves with ice cream in Manitowoc.
We did it in just the one day and it was fine.
We ended our day with pizza and beer at Biggs.
We spent Sunday doing year work and getting it ready for Kovach's visit.

So Patti and Tom arrived on Saturday.
We spent the afternoon on the patio just visiting and then went to Sprecher for dinner.
Today, Sunday, we went to a Brewers game, my first ever at Miller park.  It was 90 degrees in the shade so very, very hot.
We had lunch at Mcginns and took a shuttle from there to the game.
We left the game at the seventh inning, shuttled back for beer and apps.
Now we are waiting to watch the Cleveland Cavs play baseketball.
Tomorrow we head to hear pat Mccurdy.
i will  add that later.

We had such a great time at the Pat McCurdy show.  We saw him at Lucky's on the Lake in Lodi/Okee.
He even played a song for Patti and Tom from Cleveland.
On the way home we stopped at Hi Way Harry's, we had not been there for a long time and it was good.
Patti and Tom will leave today for home and I am going back to school for some clean up.
Summer officially begins for me!

It was a great way to kick off the summer.  Doing it with Tom and Patti made it even better.
Happy Summer everyone!

Celebrating Mother's Day

It's Sunday night again.
Boy these Sundays sure do come quickly around here.
Only two more weeks of school left for me and then I become a part timer next year.  Good changes ahead.
On Friday night, Kev, Vikki, Nic, John, Mom and I went to the Golden Mast for fish.
It is a beautiful place but the fish fry is nothing to write home about.  I know mom had a good time though and that was nice.
On Saturday we worked out in the yard even though the weather was cold.
John grilled tuna steaks for dinner, I drank a bottle of wine and we watched some movies.
Today my kids sang in church and did a marvelous job.
After church John and I took mom to Pizza Ranch, good food, we all liked it.
After that we got our plants at Menards and visited the cemeteries.
A bit more work outside and that wraps up the weekend.
It was a good, quiet mother's day.

Mother's Day celebrated a tad early

I just had a wonderful Saturday and Sunday celebrating an early Mother's Day with Courtney and family.
John and I headed to oshkosh with our bikes in tow because I wanted to do a bike ride with them.
The weather could not have been better.
We got there about noon on Saturday.
We all rode our bikes over to the Leach for a little international festival.  It was nice.
Then we headed to Fratello's for a little mid day snack and beverages.
We sat outside and just soaked up the warm sunshine.
After that we rode home and headed out to Steins to buy a plant for me.
I chose a very cool purple daisy like hanging plant plus a few other plants for the yard.
After that, we went to Cranky Pat's for pizza and beer.
Perfect day, perfect way to celebrate Mother's Day.
On Sunday we went to church, Soli sang.
We had a picnic in the park and came home with still enough time to do some yard work here.
Courtney and family leave for Disney world on Thursday for Tiz's cheer competition.

Bon Jovi - God Bless this Mess

What a great last few days!
The girls took me to a Bon Jovi concert for my 65th birthday.
I spent the last few weeks learning some of his songs so I would be ready for the concert.
Alissa did a great job of planning everything and it was all good.
We had a cute little Air B and B apartment in Walkers Point, we ubered effortlessly with her guidance, and we enjoyed drinks and food at nice places!
The girls both arrived on Saturday along with the little girls.
We ( John, me., Marge, Mal, Kev, Vikki, Tiz Soli Courtney and Alissa) all went out to Taqueria Maria's on Saturday night.  It was an early mothers day celebration for Marge.
Great food and lots of laughs.
We all returned here, had a few more beers and watched the Long Haul.
John took the girls home on  Sunday and we left for Milwaukee for the concert.
The concert was great.
On Monday Alissa left for home and I went up to Oshkosh with Courtney to hitch a ride home with John.
We stopped and looked at a duplex that they hope to rent.  it was in a great neighborhood and would serve their family well.
She also showed me where their new school will be and where Tiz's new gym will be.
It is an exciting time for them.
Here are photos from the weekend>

What a blessing to have two daughters who are best friends and who include me in that friendship!

Snowed in on April 15!

Yes, you read that correctly.
We were, in fact, snowed in yesterday.
The girls came home with John on Friday night.
We had Little Ceasar's and watched a movie.
On Saturday Kaliyah and Harmony came over for the morning.  We all had a great time, playing and making slime, it always turns to slime.\
On Saturday afternoon we played games. I bought a new one that includes a flushing toilet that sprays one in the face.  We all enjoyed that one!  After gaming, we watched another movie and then got ready to meet Courtney and Paul at Sprecher..
Courtney had a craft show Saturday in Madison so they were coming out for the night.
Lucky they did because Oshkosh had gotten dumped on with snow and ice.
Our snow and ice started while we were in Sprecher and continued through most of Sunday.
We watched another movie on Saturday night and played a few more games.
We planned to go to church on Sunday, but with all the snow we just stayed in.
We listened to Pastor Jeske on TV, he had a great message and that was our church.
We ventured outside in the afternoon.
We all pitched in to help with shoveling, it was a big job for sure.
The van Aukens decided to stay over for one more night since schools and UWO were all cancelled for monday.
Tiz made delicious pancakes for everyone on Sunday evening.
Both girls bakes a crazy cake for dessert.
We all slept well that night.
Today, Monday, John and I were off to school and the Van Aukens left shortly thereafter.
It was another fun weekend.

I Can Only Imagine

Another weekend has come and gone.
On Friday, John and I went to Sprecher's for a few beers and some dinner.
Good food, good beers, and good conversation.
On Saturday we did some errands, organized the basement a bit and then took mom to the movies.  We saw "I can only Imagine."  It was an awesome movie and I know mom enjoyed it.
The only sad part was that an older lady tripped and fell into the closed door at the back of the theater.  We heard the thump but was not sure what it was until we were leaving and we saw her with a bloodied nose sitting on the floor waiting for the EMS.
I felt so bad for her, but hopefully she was fixed up easily.  You just don't imagine that to happen when you go to the movies.
After the movie, we took  mom to El Mariachi for an early dinner.
It was good as usual.
Came home watched a few movies and called it a night.
Church on Sunday.  Louisa and the kids sat by us, Tim had to work,  so I was able to hold Harmony a lot.   She fell asleep on me.  we sang the song about, "I am content" and I couldn;t help but think how content it is to be holding a sleeping baby.
I spent the rest of the day, watching Lifetime movies.  Perfect Sunday.
Spring has not arrived yet.  We had more snow.
That is all for now.
Until next time...
