First of all, I want tot thank all the brave men and women who sacrificed so much so that I can enjoy so many freedoms.
We must never forget.
Alissa, Nathan, John, and I headed up to Oshkosh on Friday, July 4th.
Stopped at the ever popular Culver's for lunch.
We took a family photo when we arrived.
We should have been wearing red, white, and blue, but I wanted to work the colors around the girls' dresses.
After the photos, we gave Soli her Sophia the First bike for her birthday.
She rode it like a pro.
Then it was on to Sawdust days at the park across the street.
Rides and funnel cakes, nothing says 4th of July better than that!
There were some great fireworks to watch from the Van Auken front porch.
Soli slept through them on my lap.
On Saturday, John, Tiz and I left for our week in Michigan.
We had a great drive up, Tiz is fun in the car, she always has something going on.
Here she is creating a house our of her happy meal box with other stuff we picked up at McDonald's.
Kept her busy and quiet for an hour of our trip!
We arrived at our house on the lake around four.
Tiz declared it an awesome house, so all is well.
This is our beach, not much sand, but nice waves and the area is shallow for a long way out.
Here is our house and deck from the beach.
It really does look a lot like the gulf from our vantage point.
Of course, we had to see the bridge from the scenic overlook.
We did some grocery shopping and came home to a night of gaming and preteen TV.
I just wanted to show you our only staircase to the upper level.
Tiz and I like it, but John does not!
Today we are off to the Soo Locks and tomorrow Courtney, Paul, and Soli join us.
