Early Birthday Celebration for ME!

The best made plans...
I had planned to have a  painting party this Saturday.  Courtney and the girls were going to paint as well as Julia for Tiz and Kaliyah for Soli and then a few other people.
It was a bucket list item, but the lady from Set Apart Art had to cancel when her mom had a stroke.
I didn't want to cancel the time with Julia and Kaliyah so they both were going to come over on Saturday for play dates.
Now to back track a bit:
On Friday night, John and I began my birthday celebration with a movie and beer and pizza at Biggs.
We saw The Greatest Showman, it was a good movie.
Then we had beer and pizza at Biggs, we hadn't been there for a long time and it was very good.

Now back to Saturday:
Courtney and the girls arrived around 11.
We decided to run out to Walmart to buy some canvases and paints so the girls could paint here at home.
They had a great time creating some great pictures and then they made slime, of course.
We took the girls out to dinner at Rock River Pizza.
It was a fun day all around.
There were some big messes after the painting and the slime, but they did clean up pretty easily.
We watched Harmony after dinner for awhile and then it was time for bed.
It had been a long day, fun but long and we were all tired.

On Sunday, my kids sang in church and we had our preschool registration.
That all went very well and another weekend comes to an end.
Next weekend, John and I are going to Lake Geneva for some ice sculpturing event to continue the celebration.
Here are a few photos from the weekend:

Celebrating my Baby's 38th Birtnday

We celebrated Alissa birthday this past weekend.
Alissa came up on Friday and Courtney and the girls also came on Friday.
Except for John, there were no men at the celebration.
The girls had no school on Friday and I had only a morning class, so when they arrived we went to Mullen's for some ice cream and then shopped in some of the downtown stores.
After Alissa arrived we had Little Ceasar's and her requested angel food cake.
She opened the goody box and had only two wrong.
Courtney, Alissa and I went out for a few beers.  Mallory joined us.  It was a good night.
Here are a few photos form the day and night:

On Saturday, the girls made some slime.
We watched few hundred slides and then Courtney, the girls, and I went out to enjoy the unseasonably beautiful weather.  We managed to find a little snow still left on a hill by the pool and sled down a few times.

After playing outside, we got ready for Alissa's birthday dinner.
She had chosen the Crafty Cow for her dinner.
Before going there, we stopped at Sweet Mullet's for a few beers.
We all enjoyed our burgers at the Crafty Cow.
Tiz told the waitress about Alissa's birthday and she got a complimentary desset which we all shared.
It was yummy.

Courtney tha the girls had to leave at7:15 today because the girls had to sing in church so they are long gone.
Alissa will leave in a bit.
It was indeed a very good way to celebrate my baby!
Enjoy your next trip around the sun.

Beers and Cheers sum up this weekend

Another Sunday evening.
Sister Wives is back on and it's good to be able to enjoy their shenanigans again.
Our weekend started out with a belated birthday dinner at Sprecher for John's birthday.
I tried the fish fry and it was very good even included a tap beer.  I like their Fire light beer.
John wanted the Jiegerschnitzel but they were out, so he chose another German dish, can't remember the name, but it was beef wrapped around a pickle, bacon and cheese.  he said he liked it.
After three beers, we were going to stop at Firecracker but we just decided to come home.
We watched a movie and hit the hay.

On Saturday, we took mom to the bank to cash her check, then to Walgreen's to get pills, and finally to Walmart for groceries.
After shopping she treated us to lunch at Arby's.
I cleaned and organized the rest of the afternoon.
John got us KFC for dinner, that was so good, we had not had it for so  long.
Then we watched lifetime movies, never a disappointment.

Today we left right after church to watch Tiz in a cheer competition in Madison.
Her team did very well and won second place!
it was a great fun weekend.

Next wknd we celebrate Alissa's birthday!

Catching up a bit

It's Tuesday already and I have not made a weekend update yet.
It was a good weekend with Soli and Tiz.
They arrived on Friday night to celebrate John's birthday.
We had Little Ceasar's and ice cream cake.
We decided to take a page out of the Budreau family book and played a balloon game.
Each of us, Gigi included put some ideas for activities into balloons.
We popped the balloons throughout the evening and the next day and had to do the activities.
It was lots of fun for all of us.
Some of our activities included:
slime making
baking
uno
yahtzee
photo prop pictures
dance routines
time on electrics
taste testing
TV time.
Trip to the Dollar Tree
Trip to Kwik Trip
John's ideas of "take a nap" and "go to the bathroom" were not very popular except to him!
We all agreed we will do this again.
On Saturday we took the girls home and went to church with them.
After that we went to The Hanger to have dinner before heading home.
It was another memorable weekend with the girls.
On Sunday we were finally able to get out for a walk.
It got warmer, finally!
Here are a fewphotos from the wknd:

And that is that, until next time...

Happy New Year!

We welcomed the new year in at the Carrington Inn at the Lamdmark last night.
Prior to our dinner there, we sat around watching a Twilight Zone marathon and playing scrabble.
At 1:00 we decided we had better get out in those bitter cold temps for a bit anyway.
We headed back to Peninsula State Park and found a nice place to hike up Skyway Dr.  We discovered Svenn's Bluff up at the top.  We had never seen that area before.
We returned to get ready for dinner.
We both agreed that the food was excellent this year, better than the last few years and of course, the cherry martini and cherry old fashioned were yummy as usual.
After filling our plates for the first course we returned to the wrong table and proceeded to drink the people's drinks (one sip) but then we realized we were at the wrong table, we moved really fast.  We don't think anyone noticed!
We spent the night at the kareoke bar, but it was pretty horrible.  We had fun laughing at everyone but the choice of  songs were all so depressing ugh!
We did make it till midnight and enjoyed the champagne toast.
It was a good night!
And no resolutions were made by either of us.

Today we returned home.
I still hae another day off tomorrow.
So, Happy New Year to everyone!
May 2018 be a very good year for all of us.
