Waldvogel's Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we took the girls to Waldvogel's Pumpkin Patch in Juneau.
For a $9.00 admission per person, there is so much to do.
We started with a hayride to the pumpkin patch where the girls found gourds, squash, and pumpkins that we took back with us.

Did I mention that it was a beautiful day for a trip to the pumpkin patch.
After our hayride, we decided to have some lunch at the stagecoach cafe.
Tiz enjoyed a big pickle and Soli a big apple as well as sub sandwiches.

And, no, we do not let her drink Diet Coke but she always has to sneak some of mine.
Face painting was next on the agenda.

Both girls were very happy with their faces.
We rode the train next and then got lost in the corn maze.
I think Tiz would have stayed in that corn maze all afternoon.  She loves trying to read the map and figure out where we are.  Soli and I were ready to exit however, so we did.

We spent the rest of the afternoon riding trikes, sliding on gunny sacks, playing in corn, crawling in hay, playing mini golf, and sitting on tractors.

We were at the duck pump races when we ran into my cousin, Jon.
Haven't see him for a long time.
It was nice to meet his girlfriend and her grandkids.

We ended our fun day with big caramel apples.  Perfect way to end a perfect day.
John and I returned the girls to their home and enjoyed pizza and beer at Bismark's.
Many happy memories were made today.

Celebrating a 7th Tiziversary

This weekend we celebrated our 7th Tiziversary.
Where has the time gone?
Seems like only yesterday that we met our precious little Tizita getting off a plane in Appleton.
She had just left the only home she had ever known in Ethiopia and was stepping into her new life as a part of our family.
What a great day it was!
We celebrate her Tiziversary every Sept.12 or thereabouts.
We always have a special cake and give her a present or two.
We also try to do a special activity.
This year, for the second year, we walked in the  Brigg's and Al Walk for Children's Hospital.
The walk takes place in Milwaukee.
There are so many people all walking for a great cause.
It always humbles me to see all the T shirts in honor or memory of so many child champions.
It was a beautiful day for the three mile walk.
After the walk, we enjoyed a lunch at the Ethiopian Village Restaurant.
It was delicious as usual.
John and I brought the girls home while Courtney, Paul, and Alissa stopped for a beer on the way home.
We had yogurt at the new Cenex Yogurt place and then went over to St. John's to use Tizita's new volleyball which was a gift from us for the Tiziversary.
We all had pizza and beers at On the Rock and then while the girls went out with Mallory, John, Soli, Tiz, and I watched TV.
It was a perfectly wonderful celebration of a fantastic little lady!
Here are some photos of the day:

Today we all went to church and then after lunch everyone left to go home.
John, mom, and I put fall decorations on the cemetery and now we wait for the Packers who play later tonight.
