Door County with the girls

Courtney and Paul are in the midst of moving to Milwaukee for a year.
They are now living in both oshkosh and milwaukee until they move on July 1.
It's confusing to say the least.
Last Tuesday Pam Wilke and I spent the day exploring IKEA in Oak Creek.
We had a blast and ended our day with ice cream at a malt shop in Greendale.
Pam dropped me off at the Rockstar Gym in Oak Creek to meet up with Courtney and the girls.
After their cheer practice, we all headed to their new duplex in Milwaukee.
I helped them get things set up in the girls/ bedroom and stayed with them until Thursday.
Here are some photos as we explored their new neighborhood.
it is within walking distance to miller valley and they have a great park right across the street.

The girls stayed with us for the weekend.  We went to Nic's graduation, swam at the pool, and went to church.  After church we swam at the pool again with Harmony, Kaliyah, and Treyton.  Tiz was so good with Harmony and taught her to go down the little slide.

On Sunday night, Courtney came out and stayed with us because it was way too hot in her house in Oshkosh.  100 degrees and humid.  Paul was in Utah at a conference.
Then on Monday, Courtney, me and the girls left on an adventure to Door County.
We had a blast.
We rode the trolley on a family half hour tour, took the Island Clipper to Washington Island and then took the Viking train around the Island.  We hiked at White dunes and Cavepoint,.  We stayed at the lovely Sister Bay Inn and swam in their heated pool.  We ate great food and drove our favorite big cars at Seaquist Orchards.  It was a trip full of memory making for sure.
On Wednesday, I came home with John while the girls headed to their home in Milwaukee.
the girls used John's good camera and took most of these photos

The girls return to stay with us on Friday till Monday so there is more memory making and fun ahead for all us.
Stay tuned!

A Trip to Bloomington

We just returned from a very fun two days at the Hunters in Bloomington.
It had been quite a while since we had visited them down there.
As usual, their home is lovely as well as their yard.
We took mom along, too and I think she had a great time as well.
Lissa and Nathan took us out to Joe's Station House for pizza and beers after a beer at the Destihl Brewery.
It was a fun time.
After dinner, we sat on their patio until the mosquitoes chased us in.
Then we had a few more beers and listened to you tube music videos.
Nathan even danced with Marge.
Today we had lunch at Steak and Shake before heading home through some pretty heavy rain.
Here are some photos of the visit:

Shalom Wildlife Center and Golf Carts

Last Friday, I went to Oshkosh to spend the girls' last chapel service and last day of school picnic with them.
It was a very nice end of school year celebration for them.  Bittersweet, indeed, since the girls will not be at Trinity but will be at Garden Homes in Milwaukee next year.  Saying good bye to the familiar and good friends is never easy, but new adventures await the whole family.
John and I went up to Green Bay for Melanie's wedding celebration on Friday night.  It was a fun wedding party with lots of good free food and beer.

On Saturday, we wanted to take the girls to the New Zoo in Green Bay but Soliana wanted to go back to the Shalom Wildlife Center.  We had been there last summer and she wanted to drive the golf cart again, so that is what we did.  It was John's first visit and Courtney came along with us, too.   The girls got lots of golf cart driving in that day and saw some fun animals along the way.

It was a fun way to start our summer with the girls.
On Sunday we got some more plants from Ebert's and did some yard work.
I had inservices on both Monday and Tuesday and now that those are done, I can really feel like I am on summer vacation.
On Wednesday, mom and I went down to Oshkosh with John.  We are helping Courtney get things ready for their move to Milwaukee.  She had a craft show in Milwaukee so she needed us to be with the girls for the day as well as do some packing.
John came and got us at 3:45, we had to get the girls to their new gym in Oak Creek by 6:00, at least that was the plan A, but we switched it up to Plan B. We met Courtney and Paul at their new apartment, so john and mom were able to get inside and see it.  The girls also saw their new home for the first time.  Tiz was less than impressed but I think she will warm up to it and Soli was happy with it.  Courtney and Paul took the girls to cheer which cut an hour off of our travel time to we celebrated with Fuddruckers on the way home.
It was a good day!
Thursday night I watched Harmony for Louisa and Tim so they could go to watch the big kids play baseball.
John and I took her to the park, she ran like a wild child,.  Then we played here until her bedtime.  She laid down and went right to sleep.
Such a sweetheart!
I look forward to having her more often during the summer to help them out.
This weekend we head down to Alissa's with mom in tow!  I will fill you in on that later.
Happy Summer!
