A Fun Weekend with the Girls

We just had a really fun weekend with the girls.
Courtney and Paul brought them out on Friday night.
We went shopping at Walmart, one of their favorite places.  They had fun picking out lots of treats and a few other purchases.
We ate dinner at Culver's and had such a great time just chatting with them.
We came home and loaded up our snacks, headed downstairs to watch movies.  We watched two great movies, Legally Blondes and Sleepover.
It was a late bedtime.
On Saturday we started our day with a few games of Old Maid with Gigi then we left for Sky zone for some jumping.
The girls had so much fun and we enjoyed lunch there.  Again we chatted for quite some time.
From there we went to the domes to see the train that had all kinds of Milwaukee areas set up around the dome and track.  We all enjoyed it.
We then went shopping at Five Below and the Dollar Tree.
What fun and what great purchases.
Finished up our shopping at Mayfair before going to meet Courtney and Paul at Red Lobster where we all enjoyed a great meal!
John and I headed home from there.
My kids sang on Sunday and did an awesome job as usual.
It was a great weekend.

Celebrating Courtney and Paul's birthdays

This past weekend we took mom and went to Milwaukee to celebrate Courtney and Paul's birthdays.
We opened goody boxes, played wisconlingo and went to Saz's for dinner.
It was a very nice celebration.
It is march already, time flies.
The weather is still so cold and the snow is going nowhere fast.
John and I are going to see the creation museum and the ark on my spring break.
Not sure Cincinnati is far enough south to be any warmer, but we shall see.
Here are a few photos from the party:

Silly girl, wanted crutches!  Luckily we had Courtney's old ones in the attic.
Paul loves his pickles and dill pickle chips in his goody box
 And Courtney loves her poptarts
Eight right for Paul and perfect ten for Courtney

Revisiting my Decision

Okay, so back on Jan. 1 or thereabouts I decided to stop this blog cold turkey, well now I am reconsidering that decision and here is why:

Today we got an unpaid traffic ticket from the city of Milwaukee from Sept 15, 2018.
Of course, I couldn't remember what we had done on that day.
I do remember that around that time, we took the girls to a volleyball game at Marquette for Tizita's tiziversary, but I could not remember the exact thing we did on Sept. 15.

This is why I needed this blog so badly.  It was the only way that I could actually see what we did on Sept 15.  There it was documented that we did indeed go to a volleyball game that day and we moved the car to prevent a citation.  Now it is up to John to find the paperwork and pursue this.

So, this blog is indeed useful even if no one reads it but my, myself and I!

So I need to do a quick recap of Jan and Feb of this year so far.

It's been a rough winter, lots of snow and ice.  We have had no less than six snow/ice days this year and now schools are looking at ways to make up these missed days.  As of today, there is no end in site.
The girls had an extra week off after Christmas.
We enjoyed a sleepover with each of them which included Wipeout, hair and makeup, and games.

On Jan. 19 we went to another play at the Todd Weir Theater.  We love those plays so much.  This time we saw, "Matilda" which we all enjoyed very much.
After the play we met Courtney and Paul at the SafeHouse.  What a fun place!  Soli enjoyed showing us around since she had been there previously.  It was a fun day.

On the weekend of Jan. 26 we had our open house at St. John's and my kids sang at church.

The first weekend in February Alissa and Nathan came up on Friday night.  We celebrated Alissa's birthday and then the four of us went out to The Tipsy Goose for some drinks.  It was a fun night.
On Saturday we met Kev, Vikki, and Mallory at City Lights for a few beers before meeting the Van Aukens at Buck Bradley's for dinner before an Admiral's game.
It was a very fun weekend.

The next weekend we went to a Cheer competition in Illinois.
The girls both did a great job.  On that Sunday Kev, Vikki, John, and I took my mom to the Fireside to see Legends of Country.  It was great food and a wonderful show.

I had Feb. 14, 15, and 16 off.
I spent the Thurs and Friday in Milwaukee.  The girls and I baked cut out valentine cookies and heart pizzas for dinner while Courtney and Paul went out for dinner.
On Friday Courtney and I went to Sherman Phoenix for pizza and to spy on Paul and his six scholars from Tizita's class.  It was fun.
John came to pick up Soli and I on Friday night.  Soli spent the night with us.  We watched wipe out and then on Saturday we shopped at Walmart and then went to see the Lego movie in Waukesha.
Courtney brought Tiz to us at Chipoltle for dinner.  Soli went home with her and Tiz came with us for a two night sleepover.
Another Walmart trip, playing with Lacey, doing my hair, and playing two hours of Monopoly filled the days.  She was supposed to go home on Sunday night, but there was too much snow so luckily she and I both had Monday off so she could stay with us another day.

That brings us to this next weekend when we will be taking mom to Milwaukee with her goody boxes to celebrate Courtney and Paul;s birthdays.

So, there you have it.
I am going to use the blog as documentation.  It's easier to find it on here than on FB.

Here are a few photos from these past two months:

So many candles on Grandpa's cake

I forgot that we went to the zoo on a beautiful day in early Jan.
The girls each chose an animal to sponsor for this coming year.
A polar bear for Soli and a lion for Tiz.
