You are my Sunshine, my Little Sunshine

Even though there were gray skies, cold temps, and rainy showers outside our home was filled with sunshine this weekend because our little sunshine girl spent a nice, long weekend with us and there was not a gray, cold, rainy moment around here. Courtney brought Tizita to Watertown on Friday morning so mama could work on some of her crocheting business which has skyrocketed as of late. Courtney dropped Tiz off and headed back to Oshkosh. Of course, Tizita wanted to mix up one of her concoctions immediately, so we set to work on that. She now has her own stash of spices and other goodies that she can use whenever she feels the urge to "cook" here at our house. We left the mixture to chill for a few hours while we...
shopped at Walmart, the Dollar Tree, and St. Vinney's. Of course, we found some goodies at all three stores. Tiz is turning into a wonderful little shopper just like her Grandma. We had a great lunch at McDonald's with Gigi. Tiz was making friends and having a ball playing on the play structure until a little boy threw up all over inside of the structure. Luckily, Tiz was able to manuever her way down without stepping on the pile of puke. We packed up and headed home, our trip cut a bit short by the puke, but still a fun adventure.

Once home again, Tiz painted a piggy bank that she bought at the Dollar Tree. It is beautiful and she is keeping right here in our kitchen so we can fill it up for her next shopping trip here in Watertown.

While baking some chocolate chip cookies, we took a break to watch some TV and eat a few of the chocolate chips. Tiz seems to have developed a love for all things chocolate from her Grandma, too.

We checked on the chilling concoction mixed up earlier and decided it was time to bake it. Here is the finished product with some candy decorations to boot. Grandpa tried some when he came home because he thought it was an actual sweet treat, but upon the first bit, he realized it wasn't quite what he expected. When Tiz asked him how it was, he said, "Pretty good," to which she repied, "why only pretty good?" Too funny!
She and Gigi enjoyed some quiet together time. Sorry, I can't get the picture turned, but you get the idea of how much this little girl loves her Gigi.

On Friday afternoon we did take some time to go outside in between rain showers. Tiz helped clean up the garden,

Took a nice swing ride,

And helped me rake a few leaves.
Then it was back inside to wait for Grandpa and enjoy our new Winnie the Pooh light from St. Vinney's. When grandpa arrived we had pizza for supper and watched The Little Mermaid and Curious George movies before all three of us fell asleep. What a great day!
On Saturday, we woke up and enjoyed our chocolate chip cookies for breakfast, yep, only at Grandma's! We even ate them sitting on my bed watching some quality cartoons.

Tiz put on her new outfit for our visit to see John's dad in the nursing home and then to spend some time with Alissa and Nathan on Saturday afternoon.
We had a lovely time in Milwaukee on our visits. We were planning on taking Tizita home to Oshkosh, but due to a traffic accident and backup on our route we headed back to Watertown for one more night. Turned out to be quite a bad accident and other business so glad we did not have to wait in that for half our night. Tiz played with Grandpa a lot on Saturday night. She made him some supper, they dressed mimis, and they played Candyland. After all that playing we called it a night and headed to bed.

On Sunday morning we played trains before heading to church. We will be returning our little ray of sunshine this afternoon! I think she will have left enough sun behind to keep us happy all week.

While saying that her origianl baked concoction was "pretty good", I did say that the chocolate chip cookies were better. Our drive to take her to her parents was a real hoot as well with her getting "lost" in the car. It was another good Tiz weekend.

I'm glad you guys had a wonderful time together this week end.

Tho Kenley can't do all those things yet, I am sure in years to come she will want to do special things like you did this week end.
Right now we are grateful for the playtime we have with her on the living room floor.
