A Celebration of MaryAnn's Life

On Friday we had thItalice Memorial service for John's mom. It was a beautiful service, honoring her in a very meaningful way.
Here is the urn that held her ashes. It was so moving to watch John's dad just touch that urn as if he was somehow touching MaryAnn.

John is sharing family history through some photographs with Tizita.

Grandpa Jack with Courtney, Alissa, and Tizita.

Beautiful flowers for Mamaw from Tizita.

Gigi (my mom) with Tizita before the memorial service. My mom and MaryAnn were very close friends as well as out laws. They spent many good times together both before and after my dad died.

These are the sweet caregivers from the Care Center where Jack lives. We were so pleased that they actually took time to attend the memorial service and spend time with Jack. He is a lucky man to have such beautiful women taking care of him. He will definitely miss MaryAnn, but with people like this it makes it a little easier for him and for us, knowing he is so well loved and cared for.

After the service we went over to a local bar and had a toast to MaryAnn because it is what she would have wanted us to do.

We all felt that it was a wonderful tribute to MaryAnn and we felt she would have been pleased with all the people who came to support Jack and the family. She also would have been pleased with the short, sweet message of the priest and the yummy food served afterward.

See you someday soon, MaryAnn.
