Another fun filled Gram/Tizita Day

After our fun filled fourth of July, I headed up to Oshkosh with Courtney and Tizita to spend a few days playing with my Tiz. There is a group of people whose job it is to go over to a child's house and for a mere $20.00 an hour, these adults will entertain your child by doing whatever activities the child decides. They are not babysitters in that the parents can be home at the time. They are just child entertainers but the entertaining is completely led by the child. I forget the official name of these people, but I had checked into it online at one point. I thought there could be nothing better than spending time with a child doing whatever they wanted, but there are no such groups in this area, yet. Perhaps I should start one. Anyway, I felt like one of those "entertainers" on this visit to Oshkosh. I let Tizita be the director of our activities and we both had such a great time.

On Tuesday, we took a bike ride. We left the Van Auken home before 11:00 and never returned until after 3:00, now that is a full day of fun. Let me share some of it with you now.

Here we go, off on our bikes for our big adventure.

We started at the Menomonee Park Zoo where Tizita enjoyed feeding these cute little baby goats. We used $1.50 to purchase the food and Tizita fed both little goats, one from each hand so they would not feel slighted. I remember just a year ago when she was afraid to even go near the goats and now they are licking her hands. I like how we just spent a long time with the goats. Tiz set the time frame and it was perfect.

We took time to photograph one another on the turtle.

Tizita decided after feeding the goats that it was time for our lunch. We ate at the little cafe in the zoo. Hot dogs, cherry slushies, and my Diet Pepsi, it doesn't get any better than that. We shared the great food and some great conversation, too.

Tizita decided that the lagoon in the zoo would be the perfect backdrop for a few photos. She posed, I snapped.

We got back on our bikes and hit the trail once again. We stopped to hang on the monkey bars at the wooden park called Little Oshkosh. We also stopped at a few piers along the way to throw a few rocks in the water.

We biked to another nice park along the trail and stopped there for some more climbing, hanging, and swinging.

After this park stop, we were headed over to ride the train and merry go round, but we got a bit lost on the way. The bike trails go off in different directions and we followed the wrong one for a bit, but we did discover the big globe where we like to find Ethiopia and Oshkosh. We had to walk our bikes across the grass for a bit to get back to the bike trail that leads to the little rides.

We enjoyed ice cream and another slushie before riding the merry go round. Sadly, the train engine was down for repairs so we could not ride that, but we did not let that dampen our spirits, no sir, not us. Besides with slushies and ice cream, who can complain?

As you can see, one little lady enjoyed herself some ice cream!

We both enjoyed a ride on the merry go round, actually we took two rides. One time on white horses and one time on black horses.

And how do you say "No" to that cute face when it requested cotton candy? I figure when you are with grandma, you are entitled to a few extra snacks.

After our wonderful day on the bike trails, monkey bars, swings, merry go rounds, and piers, we ended up in a nice bubbly jacuzzi bath. This was just the beginning of the bubble extravaganza, eventually those bubbles were everywhere!

And that, my friends sums up some of the best parts of my day with Tizita. She is a great activity director and I look forward to our next big Gram/Tiz outing.
