Thursday was deemed our baking/cooking day.
Tizita has always enjoyed the kitchen, but she loves to concoct her own creations rather than use a cookbook.
While this can occasionally turn into an edible item, it is usually just something that her papa will try, so I worked hard to try and come up with some things that would be fun, but still turn into yummy treats for all of us.
We started with popsicles made with jello and kool aid.
Here she is stirring the mixture together..
Next we had to put the mixture into little cups.
She accomplished this with little spillage.
Our next treat was sand cake.
We had to crush up white sandwich cookies in the blender.
Tiz is a whiz with a blender.
She was able to chop up the entire package of cookies and even insisted on sending them through a second time to make the "sand" as soft and fine as the sand in St. George.
The next step in the sand cake process is beating up the filling of pudding, cream cheese, butter, powder sugar, and cool whip.
I like how she has her hand on her hip like it is the most normal thing in the world to be beating with one hand and all.
Best part of baking, licking the beaters!
Here she is adding the cool whip.
Then we had to assemble the sand cake in our sand pail.
I don't have a picture of the finished product, not sure why, but take my word for it when I tell you it looked just like real sand. We even added a shovel for the spoon and some clean shells for a decoration.
It tasted so yummy.
Next, she made a few chocolate milk shakes.
Very tasty.
And to end our cooking in the kitchen with a kid, I let her concoct some dips for her papa to try.
They are heavy on garlic and tabasco, just the way he likes them.
A great kitchen cooking experience.
