On Friday, July 5 Alissa, Courtney, Paul, the girls, and I headed over to Lake Mills to show Tiz and Soli the city where their mama and papa spent the first few years of their married life.
Courtney and Paul both agreed that they loved living in Lake Mills and shared many great times there.
We started our tour at Bartels Beach.
We opted not to take swim suits due to the chigger alert at the beaches.
Soli loves her swinging.
Then there was fun on the slide.
Alissa posed for a "senior" portrait by the beautiful lake.
Tiz and I acted out The three Billy goats Gruff on this little bridge.
Sisters enjoying the beautiful day.
Paul spent a bit of time debating whether he should go in the water in the channel.
Of course, he could not resist. Paul actually wanted to jump off of the bridge, but we advised against it since we thought he might break his legs.
Paul says he was not breaking the rules since he was not swimming just simply wading.
It wasn't long before Tiz joined her papa in the water.
Tizita's first ride on this old fashioned merry go round did not end very well as she was dragged around with her legs hanging off. It was going pretty fast and she let go and scraped herself up a bit.
She is tough though and got back on.
We showed her how to sit and hold on tight.
She conquered her fear in no time.
Godmother Alissa and Soli
After a driving tour of some other old haunts including Courtney and Paul's condo, we went to the Sand Bar located on Sandy Beach for a yummy lunch.
Paul and his sister wives.
We all enjoyed the Lake Mills revisit.
Alissa left for home shortly after our tour.
Paul and Courtney took Tizita over to the Aquatic Center where she mastered the big slide, the chute slide, and the diving board.
After going down the big slide about a hundred times, the lifeguard told her she was too short to be on that slide!
She waited for that guard to move on in the rotation and went back on the slide.
I walked over to the pool with Soli when she woke up from her nap and she had a great time in the water, too.
That night, we went to On the Rock for pizza and beer.
Came home and watched some Lazy Town.
It was another great day.
