Grizzly Jack's Wild Bear Resort

So, in yesterday's post, I told all of you that we would be vacationing in central Illinois this July.
I have used VRBO in the past to find some really nice rentals, so I checked them out for a rental home for us this summer.  When one types in WI lake homes, thousands of homes come up, but when one types in IL lake homes, nine pop up!
The one pictured above is owned by a family in Palantine, so I suppose getting away to this resort is an escape from the big city, but I question why anyone would own such a beautiful condo in such a wide open area.  Very few trees or scenery, but it will serve our purposes for the week.
The resort itself seems very nice and the rental of the above unit does include passes to the water park.
The water park is small which also suits our needs since only Tizita really needs to use it.
There is a nice hot tub for the adults though.
In many ways, the whole resort area reminds me of the many water park resorts in the Wisconsin Dells which we normally do not care for, but since this is such a small version of one of those, we think it will be fine.
This is the lobby area complete with candy/ice cream store.
There is a cute playground just beyond this bear and mini golf.  They also offer a train that will take you  around the resort.
And finally, there is a huge indoor amusement park which houses laser tag, a ropes course, and eight big rides.  There are also inflatable jump houses, many arcade games, and this huge candy machine that greets you as you walk in the door.  I am picturing Uncle Cheddah and Tizita enjoying some bonding time in this area.
All in all, we were satisfied with the area especially since we look forward to spending lots of time at the surrounding state parks.  Those will serve our need for nature!
One thing is for certain, anywhere that we spend time with family is always the best place to be!
